SHIT THAT IRKS ME

In an effort to stabilize my fluctuating sunny disposition and my shredded nerves, I've decided to add this page to my Zen blog as a rant to the universe. Hey, it's better than taking up another bad habit or kicking my dog.

A big thank you to the County Board of Equalization for denying my request for a change in value of my property. We had it appraised this year to attempt to refi to a lower interest rate and much to our chagrin, the value had dropped. The amusing part is that the county valued the property $10000 higher than the actual appraised value. I filled out all the paperwork to have our tax amount reassessed and reduced only to find out that the county concocted some bullshit about missing paperwork and that I missed the deadline(when in fact I filled out everything they asked for and was assured it would go through). I think a more accurate account would be that they need the money and have no intention of reducing our taxes, but I wouldn't know because I can't get anyone from the Equalization Board to call me back.
UPDATE: After two days of being pissed off about being denied a tax reduction on our rapidly declining property value, the county got back to me with a "Just Kidding". Apparently there was a clerical error and we got the denial letter "by mistake". Great news, except that I spent two days of my life pissed off at the county when I could have directed it to someone more deserving.

If you preface a statement with "Don't take this the wrong way..." be assured, it will NOT be taken the wrong way. It will be taken in exactly the way you meant it, which means it will more than likely not be well received. This in turn may cause one of the following to occur
a.) an equally derogatory comment from the offended to the offender
b.) withholding of goods
c.) in the event that the offendee is a woman, it may be filed away for future use(Beware of this one!); these are compiled and cataloged over many years.
